”I’m not nervous about school starting. Why would I be nervous about something I already know is going to happen? I’m not nervous. I’m scared.”

A new school year is beginning. Laila’s family has just moved to a new town, and she must start at a new and unfamiliar school. For Jarkko, school and its routines are all too familiar, and studying comes easily to him, but school itself does not. Tomi and Titta can hardly wait for school to start, because at least there they are respected. Or feared. Same thing.

Arvet (Scars) is a play about four young people and the bullying that adults do not see, bullying that can leave lasting scars. Yet there is always a chance to choose differently before it is too late.
